A proposal to set up separate State Scheduled Caste/Schedule Tribe
Commissions on the pattern of the National Commissions for Scheduled
Castes and Scheduled Tribes was also approved by the cabinet.

It also okayed the draft of Bihar Right to Information (Amendment)
Rules 2009. An applicant will now have to file separate application to
get information on different matters. He will get only one information
on one application.

The Cabinet also sanctioned a compensation of Rs 1 lakh each to all
the 16 farmers killed at Amausi village in Khagaria district on
October 1 this year in a massacre.

The eight-day winter session of the state legislature would commence
from December 17 and conclude on December 24 during which there would
be six sittings of both the Houses of the state legislature.
Supplementary budget too would be presented in the state assembly on
December 23 and a day after in Bihar legislative council.

The Cabinet also okayed a proposal to set up the Bihar Public Works
Contract Disputes Arbitration Authority. The new authority would
handle contract-related disputes.

It also sanctioned Rs 26.7 crore for reconstruction and widening of
the Kankerbagh main road from Old Bye Pass Chiraiyatand ROB to Sheetla
Mandir. For subsidy to the fish farmers, Rs 5.55 crore was sanctioned.

Rs 1.32 crore was sanctioned for the year 2009-10 for setting up Arya
Bhatt Gyan Vishwavidyalaya. It also okayed a proposal to set up Gautam
Residential High School at Simultala in Jamui district. This school
would become functional from April 2010.

The Cabinet okayed a proposal for notification of polls for vacant
seats of Panchayati Raj Institutions. The State Election Commission
has been asked to notify the date for by-elections to these seats
within the next two days.
